Canada is a country located in the continent of North America. It has ten provinces and three territories that extend from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and northward into the Arctic Ocean. Canada shares a border with the United States, a marine border with Greenland, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
Canada has a very vibrant tourism industry. As the second-largest country in the world, Canada’s size makes it a significant tourist attraction. Domestic and international tourism combined supports about half a million jobs in the country.
Much of Canada’s tourism is centred in the regions of Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver, Niagara Falls, Vancouver Island, Canadian Rockies, British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, Churchill, Manitoba and the national capital, Ottawa.
You can visit these places for their cultural diversity, as well as the many national parks and historic sites. There are 20 World Heritage Sites in Canada. Of these 20 sites, 9 are Cultural Heritages, 10 are Natural Heritages, and one is a combined site.
There is no better way to discover Canada than by visiting and staying in its magnificent National Parks. Canada’s National Parks are very popular for hiking and camping. However, reservations are required for most of them.
British Columbia is famous for alpine skiing and has about 33 large ski resorts. In Alberta, Edmonton is known as Canada’s festival city, with over 60 festivals happening year-round. The forests and numerous lakes of central Ontario and northern Ontario provide popular hiking and camping destinations.
Manitoba offers many opportunities for outdoor recreation, hunting, fishing, boating, and some of the finest beaches in North America, including Grand Beach, Victoria Beach and Winnipeg Beach.
In Ontario, you can also visit two of Canada’s main cities of, Ottawa and Toronto. Toronto is the country’s second-largest and most populous city and one of the most multicultural cities in the world.
